El texto informa sobre la muerte y la meritoria carrera académica de Gerd Wotjak, profesor de estudios de traducción en la Universidad de Leipzig y miembro del famoso Departamento de Intérpretes de la antigua Karl-Marx-Universität, que, tras la reunificación alemana, se convirtió en el IALT (Institut für Angewandte Linguistik und Translatologie) de la Universidad de Leipzig.
